Informatii de interes general pentru cetatenii romani cu drept de vot aflati in orasul Calgary sau pe teritoriul Canadei in ziua alegerilor pentru membrii din România în Parlamentul European din 9 iunie 2024.

Alegerile pentru membrii din România în Parlamentul European

Ministerul Afacerilor Externe organizează, prin Ambasada României în Canada și Consulatele Generale ale României, 12 secții de votare în Canada la alegerile pentru membrii din România în Parlamentul European, care vor avea loc la 9 iunie 2024.

La Calgary se organizează secția de votare nr. 66, la adresa 17 Millrise Dr. SW, Calgary, AB, T2Y 0R6.

Au drept de vot cetățenii români care au vârsta de 18 împliniți până în ziua votului inclusiv. Nu au drept de vot debilii și alienații mintal puși sub interdicție și persoanele care, în ziua votării, sunt condamnate prin hotărâre judecătorească definitivă la pierderea drepturilor electorale.

Votarea începe la ora locală 07:00 și se încheie la ora 22:00. Alegătorii care la ora 22:00 se află la sediul secţiei de votare, precum şi cei care se află la rând în afara sediului secţiei de votare pentru a intra în localul de vot pot să exercite dreptul de vot până la ora locală 23:59.

La secțiile de votare organizate în străinătate cetățenii români cu drept de vot vor putea vota în baza unui act de identitate emis de statul român, valabil în ziua votării: cartea de identitate; cartea electronică de identitate; cartea de identitate provizorie; buletinul de identitate; paşaportul diplomatic; paşaportul diplomatic electronic; paşaportul de serviciu; paşaportul de serviciu electronic; paşaportul simplu; paşaportul simplu electronic; paşaportul simplu temporar; în cazul elevilor din şcolile militare, carnetul de serviciu militar.

Nu se poate vota cu titlu de călătorie.

Ministerul Afacerilor Externe a publicat o listă de întrebări frecvente referitoare la votul în străinătate la alegerile pentru Parlamentul European din 9 iunie 2024, cu răspunsuri, care se regăsește accesând 2024.03.26_intrebari_frecvente_parlamentul_european_2024.pdf (mae.ro).

De asemenea, Ministerul Afacerilor Externe (MAE) și Autoritatea Electorală Permanentă (AEP) au realizat Ghidul alegătorului român la secțiile de votare organizate în străinătate la alegerile pentru Parlamentul European din 9 iunie 2024. Cetățenii interesați pot consulta ghidul accesând link-ul https://www.mae.ro/node/64179 pe site-ul Ministerului Afacerilor Externe.

Romanian Flavors at Red Lodge

is an annual event organized by RCCAC since 2005 (except in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic restrictions) in different presentations, shapes, and names, showing different Romanian traditional and cultural components.

It is a time when people can get together outside to learn from another ethnic group, about their cuisine, traditional music, folklore, costumes, and legends, also a fantastic opportunity for the people from the Romanian group to pass all the knowledge to their next generations.

Romanian Cultural Pavilion 2024-4.png

We invite you to visit the Romanian Cultural Pavilion within GlobalFest - The Cultural & Fireworks Festival, August 15-24, 2024 @ Elliston Park, Calgary.

This is the seventh year since the RCCAC promotes Romanian culture, traditions, values, and heritage within this festival in front of an average audience of 100 K people/edition.

During the festival you can learn about the culture of various countries, you can taste traditional foods, you can attend citizenship ceremonies, ethnic shows and so on.

The gates open every evening at 6 pm and close at 9.15 pm, and the fireworks shows can be admired starting at 9.30 pm.

Casino Fundraiser Event - February 28th and 29th, 2024 @ Pure Casino - Calgary, AB. For those of you who want to give us your support, we are looking to fill a few positions for our upcoming casino. If you could help us out, we would really appreciate it! The following shifts are available:

· February 28th:11 am to 7.15 pm (day shift) - chiprunner;

· February 29th: 7 pm 3.30 am (night shift) – chiprunner;

· February 28th and 29th – back-ups – 4(four) positions to be called last minute if needed.

GlobalFest @ Elliston is an annual celebration of Calgary’s multicultural communities, featuring pavilions, performances, international food, children’s programming, and fireworks. The Romanian Cultural Pavilion under the RCCAC coordination promotes Romanian culture, values and traditions to up to 100K audiences per edition, since 2018. Come and join our team!

Romanian folk-dance classes under the project Romanian School in Prairie continue every Saturday from 11 am at Ballroom & Country Dance Studio, 121C 17th Avenue NE, Calgary, AB. RCCAC is seeking members to join our board of directors. We have several vacancies, also starting with May 2024, at the next AGM meeting, the entire board of directors is to be renewed.

According to the organization's Bylaws, the board of directors is composed of:

6.04 - Election of Board of Directors

(a) The Board of Directors consists of one (1) to five (5) Officers and one (1) to four (4) Directors, elected in the Annual General Meeting for a two (2) years term:

(i) One (1) President for two (2) years term.

(ii) One or two (1/2) Vice President(s) for two (2) years term.

(iii) One (1) Secretary for two (2) years term.

(iv) One (1) Treasurer for two (2) years term.

(v) Maximum four (4) Directors for two (2) years term.

This is an exciting opportunity! We are actively recruiting for engaged, community-oriented, and passionate members to join in.

Hi everyone,

Due to extreme weather here in Calgary, the Romanian folk dance classes will be resumed next Saturday, instead of tomorrow.

Stay warm and happy weekend with board games, hot chocolate, and homemade cookies!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

INGREDIENTS

1 cup butter softened

1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cups granulated sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

3 cups All Purpose Flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

3 cups milk chocolate chips or chunks

In large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time; beat in vanilla. In separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda; stir into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. (Make-ahead: Shape into disc, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze in freezer bag for up to 1 month. Bring to room temperature before continuing with recipe.)

Roll by 2 tbsp into balls. Arrange, 3 inches (8 cm) apart, on parchment paper–lined rimless baking sheets; flatten slightly.

Bake, 1 sheet at a time, in 350°F (180°C) oven until tops are no longer shiny, 13 to 15 minutes. Let cool on pans for 2 minutes; transfer directly to racks to cool completely. (Make-ahead: Store in airtight container for up to 3 days.)
