The Romanian Library in the Prairie

Opened at the end of 2025, this cultural community hub stands as the only Romanian library of its kind in Western Canada, even in all of Western North America at this time. It offers a rich collection of Romanian literature, history, and children's books, creating a space that connects generations through stories and knowledge.
Beyond its shelves, the Romanian Library stands as a gathering place, a hub for cultural exchange, dialogue, and celebration.
It welcomes guests from diverse backgrounds, reinforcing unity
and fostering mutual respect among communities.
For students and researchers, it provides rare resources that
strengthen academic collaboration. For families, it offers stories that nurture belonging and pride.
We warmly welcome donations to our Romanian‑language library and are more than happy to handle the entire process—from receiving the books to arranging a convenient pickup directly from the donor.
Every title we receive helps keep our language, stories, and culture alive here on the prairie.
If you have Romanian books you’d like to pass on, just send us a message—together we keep this treasure thriving.
Alexandra, our Assistant Librarian, is always glad to help—whether you have questions or would like guidance in choosing a book.
The library is open Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Saturdays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and by appointment; please text ahead at 587‑889‑9890 to book your arrival.
We opened the library with around 900 titles. An online version of our catalogue will soon be available.
