Important Update – Event Postponed to After Winter Holidays

Dear special guests, friends, and community members,

We regret to inform you that the Romanian Canadian Cultural Association of Calgary’s event scheduled for December 7th, 2025, at the Mahogany Beach Club must be postponed.

Late today, December 2nd, 2025, we were informed that the venue we rented experienced significant flooding. Given the very short time remaining, it is unfortunately not possible to relocate and reorganize the event to another location that meets the same standards we had prepared for you.

The good news is that this celebration is not cancelled — it will be rescheduled after the winter holidays. Our team is already working to secure a new date and venue, and we will share full details with you as soon as they are confirmed.

We truly appreciate your understanding, patience, and continued support. Your enthusiasm means the world to us, and we look forward to welcoming you in the new year for a festive and memorable gathering.

A Historic First: The Romanian Library in the Prairie

Is Opening in Calgary!

The Board of Directors of the Romanian Canadian Cultural Association of Calgary is thrilled to share a heartfelt and historic announcement:

We are opening the very first public Romanian-language library in Calgary—and, based on our research, the first of its kind in all of Western Canada and along North America's Western Coast. This cultural gem, lovingly named The Romanian Library in the Prairie, will soon open its doors to the public.

Nestled in the heart of Alberta, the library will be a sanctuary for the Romanian language, literature, and spirit. It will host a growing collection of books and materials printed in Romanian—from timeless classics by beloved Romanian authors to global bestsellers translated into our native tongue.

Though modest in size today, it carries a mighty mission: to preserve, celebrate, and pass on the richness of Romanian culture, values, and traditions.

This is more than a library—it is a nest of culture, a place where stories live, memories are rekindled, and generations connect through language and heritage. With the care, passion, and involvement of our community, it will flourish into a vibrant cultural beacon.

We warmly welcome book donations from individuals, families, and publishing houses who wish to contribute to this meaningful endeavor. Every book gifted is a seed planted in the soil of our shared identity.

The official grand opening will be announced soon—and we promise it will be a moment to remember.

Stay tuned and join us in writing this new chapter of Romanian cultural pride in the Prairies.

This is a volunteer-driven project founded by Veronica Chirnoaga.

With gratitude, hope, and joy,
The Board of Directors

With Heartfelt Thanks: Your Books Are Building Our Story

To all those who have generously donated books from your personal libraries - thank you. Each volume gifted is more than a donation; it is a gesture of love, a thread in the tapestry of our shared heritage. Your contributions breathe life into our vision, transforming shelves into sanctuaries of language, memory, and meaning. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and commitment to nurturing a love for reading in our community. With every book, you help cultivate a space where Romanian voices echo, stories bloom, and generations find connection.

Together, we are building something beautiful.
